Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video. Many hands make light WORK. Light work means lots of PROGRESS. Lots of progress means a BIG VIDEO! A big video means lots of FUN! It was full steam ahead this week and with Louis with us, it meant that we were absolutely flying through jobs! Jake, Danielle and Louis absolutely tore through jobs in the King Charles Room – while making sure they are having fun at the same time, of course! We had a fantastic week with Louis and he improved on his already very good English! He even had the confidence to tell one of Grahams terrible Dad jokes! Louis has sadly left the chateau now to return to Lyon, but we really hope that we will see Louis and his family again in the future! While lots of fun was being had inside the warm chateau, Dad has remained working hard in Gite completing electrical circuits, putting up the last of the plasterboard and finishing the water pipe saga from last week’s frustration. Next week we are going to be very busy with guests visiting the chateau. However, we fully intend to remain busy working around the chateau on our quieter days! Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video! Another busy week at the chateau sees the very near completion of another bedroom at Chateau de Bruges. Completion of bedroom 1 marks the third room to be completed and has recently been named ‘Granit’ after the nightmare Jake and Danielle had endured trying to run electrics for the en-suite. Take a walk around this room with Jake getting to see everything in detail and gaining un understanding of what is left to do before guests will be able to book this room to stay. Graham has remained busy in the very cold Gite insulating the outside walls and prepping the walls for electrics. Experiencing temperatures in the minus’ this week, Graham felt very hard done by while Danielle and Jake remained inside the warm and cosy chateau. Danielle further progresses with the chairs getting them a couple of steps closer to completion. She has since taken a delivery of her long awaited ‘cord’ for the square seat pillows. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video! GRAHAM IS OFFICIALLY BACK AT THE CHATEAU! Last Saturday, Jake, Danielle and Merlin along with their tour guides Berthold and Agnes, visited many beautiful areas of interest around the local communes. With 2 Chateaus and some amazing view points, this weeks exploration is definitely worth a watch! Within the return of Graham comes lots of renovation progress… Dad has started work in the gite to complete the plumbing for the 2-bedroom self-contained apartment. With the weather getting colder here in France he must wrap up warm to complete lots of angle grinding and concrete breaking to prepare the gite for renovation. Finishing touches in bedroom 1 such as the toilet being plumbed in and the fixtures and fittings being hung and switched on. The room is that much closer to being completed. Next week we will hopefully bring you some completed shots of the newest bedroom to be renovated at Chateau de Bruges. Danielle receives a gift box from a very thoughtful follower including many tools and pieces of equipment to help her on her upholstery journey. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video! As with any renovation, jobs can often become overwhelming and a little out of your comfort zone. This week, that is exactly the case. The chateau fights hard to prevent Jake and Danielle from achieving what they set out to do and resulted in a little job taking a LONG time! Progress on the chairs continues and Danielle now has a lot more materials to help push forward with the upholstery progress. However, a tough week with the renovation and a busy start to the weekend leaves Danielle with very little time to crack on. Graham still remains frustrated in the UK but addresses some of the viewers concerns from last weeks gite tour. A Friday night meeting with friends from Lapeyrouse meant some superb company and even better food! Jean, Berthold, Agnes, Maxime, Kevin, Remco and Norbert. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video! In what has been another busy week at the chateau, Jake and Danielle continue to work hard on the renovations. They have further progressed with Bedroom 1s ensuite and continued to work on the newest upholstery challenge. They have also spent some time in Clermont Ferrand visiting kitchen designers to design and price up the brand new Gite kitchen. More new drone footage this week captures the autumn look of the chateau’s beautiful grounds being manicured. Armistice day was on Friday 11th November and Jake and Danielle spent some time with local friends celebrating in the local village. Graham is still in the UK continuing to wait out the result of his visa application. Although frustrated with the length of time the process is taking, he manages to spend some more valuable time with his family. Golf with Grandad, Charles and a new friend Alan. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video! This week at the chateau Graham sorted a couple of bits in Bedroom 1 before heading back to the UK for his working VISA appointment. The tiling and plumbing look brilliant and we cannot wait to get the rest of the bathroom installed. Jake and Danielle are staying busy at the chateau with bedroom 1 and reupholstery of the two arm-chairs. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video! We have a Chateau de Bruges first this week! Jenn (Graham’s daughter and Jake’s sister) visits the chateau for the first time since we got the keys in March. As expected, she was a natural in front of the camera. Although, she was not always happy to be videoed as, in her own words, didn’t always ‘look her best’. In what can only be described as a large dose of realisation, she was astounded by how much hard work she would go onto do this week at the chateau. Its safe to say she is returning to her busy life in the UK now for a well-earned rest! Thanks for all your help Jenn! Hope to see you back at the chateau soon! Grandad, Grandma also return to the chateau this week and were working incredibly hard to continue with winter preparations in the garden, greenhouse and vegetable patch! I am sure you will enjoy their company as much as you did last time they were here! Charles also stayed until late this week keeping us busy in the garden. His work rate and determination to get a job DONE is unmatched! You are welcome anytime Charles! Just give us a couple of weeks to rest and regroup before cracking the whip once again! We have a few days to relax just the 3 of us, Merlin and Curious. Then Dad returns to the UK another time in search of his ‘working VISA’. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video! More friends and family here this week helping us to prepare the garden for the winter so it can look even more beautiful next spring. Thankyou to Sean and Julia who spent a busy couple of days with us this week and shared all of their experience of running your ski chalet in the Alps. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the chateau same time next year! Charles also makes a return this week to keep us busy in the garden. We hope to have Charles with us for another week to really get on top of the garden and have it ready for the coming winter. Jenn (Graham’s daughter) visits the chateau for the first time since the purchase and therefore makes her first appearance on the channel! She is going to be a busy girl this week but its great to have her here and experiencing the chateau in the early stages of the renovation!
